Barrel cleaning
Most Daystate rifles are fitted with barrels made by Lothar Walther. With the minimum of maintenance, the barrel will last a lifetime.
For optimum performance, the barrel should be periodically cleaned using felt cleaning pellets that have been lubricated with light grade oil; this will clean the barrel, help to reduce the build up of lead and prevent corrosion.
With precharged rifles, it is also permissible to sparingly coat pellets using a light grade oil or pellet lubricant. This will also help to protect the barrel and maintain accuracy.
A pull through or cleaning rod can also be used, but great care must be taken, with the fine 12-land rifling used in airgun barrels, as once worn or damaged, nothing short of a new barrel will restore accuracy.
