Daystate Picatinny Rail Kit

Mk2 version – Converts from 11mm dovetail base

The new Daystate Picatinny Mk2 Rail Kit adapts the 11/12mm dovetail breech base of  Red Wolf,  Wolverine R,  for use with tactical Picatinny scope mounts. Both rails have been engineered to allow easy access of the magazine.

(Note: This unit does not fit the Huntsman variants.)

Fitting

The Mk2 version is supplied with front and rear sections. It fits to the existing receiver with bolts (3mm hex key required). The rear section is 98mm long and simply slides on. The front section is 68mm and requires the shrouded barrel section to be slackened first. Comprehensive fitting instruction here.

Benefits of Picatinny

Many digital scopes come pre-fitted with picatinny mounts. Additionally, when switching between different scopes, a Picatinny scope rail offers quicker swap-over than the ‘airgun standard’ 11mm dovetail. Thanks to the locking bar, Picatinny-mounted scopes can be removed and relocated in the same position without loss of zero.

The Daystate Picatinny Rail Kit also raises the scope’s sighting axis a further 14mm above the original bore line. This can improve accuracy when zeroing the scope at longer distances. Raising the scope also helps the saddle of the scope clear the magazine, allowing optimal eye-relief. The Picatinny Rail Kit does not interfere with the use of the existing magazine, nor single-shot tray.

This revised Mk2 Rail Kit is made from lightweight aluminium (92g). So it will not upset the balance of your rifle and scope combo. Finished in anti-reflective black, it is suitable for both hunting and target use. It is also ideal for more tactical scopes.

Uses

Many hunters also choose Picatinny when using Night Vision scopes and/or day-scope NV attachments.

All in all, the Mk2 Daystate Picatinny Rail Kit is an affordable upgrade that will result in tangible improvements in both accuracy and gunfit.
