Description
B-STOCK Daystate MK3 Thumbhole stock #92
Walnut, right-hand
This is a B-STOCK Daystate MK3 Thumbhole stock (#92). Made from walnut, it is right-hand dedicated. It is genuine Daystate factory woodwork and fully functional, but has flaws (as listed). Daystate is therefore offering it as a B-Stock item, at a reduced price to reflect the imperfections.
Note: This stock will fit the Type B/C/D MK3 models (see Compatibility below).
What is B-Stock?
A ‘B-Stock’ item is a product which we consider is not ‘new’ (ie not ‘A-stock’). There may be a number of reasons for this. It may have some cosmetic flaw, imperfection or damage that spoils the look of the item, but which does not stop it from properly functioning. In some cases, it may be a test item that’s been returned, so we can no longer sell it as new. We offer such B-Stock products at a one-off, reduced price and provide a fully outlined condition report of it. B-Stock items are inspected, tested and sold as being fully functional – and they also come with a six-month guarantee against faulty workmanship. However, any flaws outlined in the B-Stock listing are not covered under this warranty.
Why you might want a B-Stock item
Unless stated to the contrary, all B-Stock items are guaranteed fully functional. While their reduced price is reflective of the flaws, it gives people the opportunity to acquire the item much more cheaply than if buying it new. In the case of a gun stock, it might be that you want to replace your tired-looking, existing stock. Or you may want to protect your current stock by using a cheaper replacement for the field or range. Or you may simply want to practise working on this stock with a bit of DIY woodworking, safe in the knowledge that you’re not going to ruin the factory stock fitted to your pride and joy!
In the case of the now-obsolete MK3 air rifle, there are no spare stock parts. So these B-Stocks are the last chance to get spares.
Compatibility of MK3 stocks
Daystate introduced its ground-breaking MK3 electronic PCP air rifle in 2003. Production covered four models. Chronologically, these are known as Types A, B, C and D. To help you identify which MK3 you have:
- Type A models had the electronics designed into the stock and were fitted with a gold-coloured trigger;
- Types B, C and D had the electronics attached to the rifle’s action and were fitted with a silver-coloured trigger.
Only stocks designated ‘Type A’ will fit the original MK3 version.
Note: This listing is for a gunstock only (for Types B, C or D).
Also, you will need to use your rifle’s existing stock bolts etc. to fit this stock.
Condition Report of this particular item
Our factory technicians have inspected this stock. They consider its condition to be B-Stock for the following reasons:
- Dry stock that needs a re-finish
- Quite a few light scratches and chips along the LHS, particularly around the thumbhole
- Scratches on the underbelly
- RHS shows tiny chips also along the top rail
- See all images
Please also refer to the images of the actual item in this B-Stock listing, which show the flaws. The item’s price is therefore reduced accordingly.
Design and Features
This stock is right-handed and expertly crafted from quality walnut. It features a ventilated rubber butt pad and rollover cheekpiece / comb. This helps achieve perfect gunft and, also, optimal eye alignment with a scope.
The pistol grip sports a gentle rake and is capped with a white line spacer. Additionally, there are panels of stippling for your all-important trigger hand.
This stock is not supplied with any bolts – you will get what is seen in the images.
Please note: This is a one-off listing for a B-STOCK item. Please ensure you are familiar with the ‘Condition Report of this Particular Item‘ above.
