Filling your rifle with compressed air

As with all air rifle procedures, make sure the rifle is unloaded / discharged and treat it as if it were still loaded.

Note: you can calculate the approximate number of fills you can obtain from your cylinder using this program

Instructions for filling rifle with air

  • Remove the dust cap from the front of the reservoir and connect the female snap-on connector onto the inlet valve whilst making sure that the outer sleeve is fully forward and that the connection is secure.
  • Check that the bleed screw on the hose and gauge unit is closed and slowly open the feed valve. Compressed air will now fill the reservoir.
  • Fill to the charging pressure engraved on the top of the barrel. Typically 150 - 220 bar. Regulated guns such as the MK3 FT-R, X2 Merlyn, X2 Sports R, and Air Ranger can be filled to 232 bar. Close the feed valve.
  • Allow a few seconds for the pressure to 'settle' and then top up if required.
  • Sharply open the bleed valve on the hose and gauge unit and bleed off the air from the filler hose.
  • Remove the snap-on connector and replace the dust cap.
