B-STOCK Sable Thumbhole Stock Walnut #091
Left-hand, with extra chequer panels
This is a B-STOCK Sable left-hand Thumbhole Sporter Stock in walnut (#091). The Sable is an obsolete model, and few parts remain available. This stock is genuine Daystate factory replacement woodwork. However, this one is a ‘special’ piece that includes a shotgun style, chequered / inlaid butt (in lieu of rubber pad) and a grip cap. Also, the wood is stunning, exhibition quality. It is fully functional, but due to some slight blemishes or other reasons, it is not in the condition Daystate considers ‘new’. We are therefore able to offer it as a B-Stock item, at a reduced price that reflects the imperfections. Please note that this stock is supplied wood only, and does not include any fitting bolts or trigger guard.
The Sable featured a one-inch air tube/cylinder, and its stock will also fit other, now-obsolete Daystate models (see below).
What is B-Stock?
A ‘B-Stock’ item is a product which we consider is not ‘new’ (or ‘A-stock’) for a number of reasons. It may be because there is some cosmetic flaw, imperfection or damage, that spoils the look of the item, but which does not stop it from properly functioning. In some cases, it may be a test item that’s been returned, so we can no longer sell it as new. We offer such B-Stock products at a one-off, reduced price and provide a fully outlined condition report of it. B-Stock items are inspected, tested and sold as being fully functional. They are also offered with a six-month guarantee against faulty workmanship. However, any flaws outlined in the B-Stock listing are not covered under this warranty.
Why you might want a B-Stock item
Unless stated to the contrary, all B-Stock items are guaranteed fully functional. While their reduced price is reflective of the flaws, it gives people the opportunity to acquire the item much more cheaply than if buying it new. In the case of a gun stock, it might be that you want to replace your tired-looking, existing stock. Or you may want to protect your current stock by using a cheaper replacement for the field or range. Or you may simply want to practise working on this stock with a bit of DIY woodworking, safe in the knowledge that you’re not going to ruin the factory stock fitted to your pride and joy!
Condition Report of this particular item
Our factory technicians have inspected this stock. They consider its condition to be B-Stock for the following reasons:
- A couple of nicks and marks on the front of the forend
- Professional-grade modifications have been carried out on the butt and grip
Please also refer to the images of the actual item in this B-Stock listing. We have endeavoured to show the flaws we consider make it unsuitable to be sold as ‘new’. The aforementioned flaws are reflected in the reduced price that this item is offered at.
Compatibility
This left-hand walnut stock fits the now-obsolete Firefly which had a one-inch air tube. It will also fit the following now-obsolete Daystate PCP air rifles:

- RWS50
- Mirage (Mk1 / Mk2)

Design and Features
This thumbhole stock is left-handed. It is expertly crafted from walnut with contoured edges throughout. It features a chequered butt, with a rollover cheekpiece with comb to help achieve perfect gunft and, also, optimal eye alignment with a scope.
The grip sports a gentle rake with sail panels of chequering and the addition of a grip cap. Additionally, there are panels of chequering on the fore stock. This also features a Schnabel tip forend.
Fitting
The walnut thumbhole stock fits directly to the action of the Sable and aforementioned Daystate PCP models using the rifle’s existing stock bolt and trigger guard. (Note: The stock is not supplied with bolts or guard.)
