Description
Daystate Single Shot Tray
This Daystate Single Shot Tray is the newer version, constructed from synthetic polymer. It fits Daystate’s newer PCP air rifle models, made post-2019, like the Wolverine-R, Revere and Red Wolf. Generally, it will not fit pre-2019 Daystate PCP models, although some models like the original Wolverine will accept it. Older models use this: Legacy Single Shot Tray (SST).
Note: Neither this new style, nor the Legacy SST will fit the Daystate Alpha / Delta Wolf, which use the AW DW Loader type .
Compatibility
The newer Daystate Single Shot Tray (SST) is precision-made from synthetic polymer. Its locating pins are wider spaced, and its magnets repositioned. It is designed to fit Daystate’s post-2019 PCP models, like the Wolverine-R and Red Wolf. Generally, it will not fit legacy rifle models. To tell if your rifle will take the newer SST, check its breech bay. If there are two hex bolts in a plate at the base of the loading channel, the new style SST will fit. (These bolts are wider spaced, so the pins of the Legacy SST will therefore not fit.)
Notes:
- If there are also two holes at the rear of the breech bay, your rifle will take the Legacy SST
- The arrow impressed in the new style SST should face forward
- The Huntsman Revere model will take the new style SST. However, for the pins to fit, it installs in reverse. This means the arrow should face rearwards
Caliber Availability
The Daystate Single Shot Tray is available in .177″ (4.5mm), .22″ (5.5mm) and .25″ (6.35mm). Please state the caliber your require in the box provided when adding the order to your cart.
Please note that the new style SST is currently not available in .303″ (7.62mm) caliber.
Fitting
The Single Shot Tray simply locates into the breech cutaway in place of the original 10-shot magazine. It is held firmly in place by magnets. The impressed arrow should face forward (but rearwards on the Revere). It can be fitted and removed by hand, and requires no special tools. The advantage of using a SST is that you hand-load the pellet into the breech. This has three advantages.
- You can load either from the left or right.
- You can visually inspect the pellet before you roll it into the loading bay.
- You get a better ‘feel’ when the feed probe pushes the pellet into the breech.
Some shooters prefer using a SST with their Daystate because of these reasons. Also, some competitions do not allow the use of a magazine-fed rifle.
